In response to requests to keep training as affordable as possible, the SMA has looked hard at how to do this - considering our training is unfunded and needs to break even.
We've come up with a plan!
In future, on many of our courses, if you book and pay in full for your place more than 15 days before the course date, you will qualify for an EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT!

| NEW THIS YEAR! Company Managers Mentoring Scheme |
Three half day sessions to be agreed amongst participants and mentors' group.
October 2010 to March 2011.
Payroll is a technical skill, union contracts can be learnt, but how do you rapidly acquire the experience in the soft skills which are the main stay of the company manager role?
Trainer Claire St Louis, herself a former stage manager, in conjunction with 11 high profile and experienced company managers, has devised a group mentoring scheme. Over three half day sessions, mentees and three or four company managers will debate particular scenarios, issues, problems frequently encountered in the job. The discussions will be facilitated by Claire. The sessions will also leave plenty of time for individual questions and one-to-one conversations, giving you access to the combined wisdom and experience of many decades of company management.
This scheme is open ONLY to SMA Professional members who have already undertaken at least DSM and SM roles. When booking, please enclose your CV and a short paragraph to say why you want to undertake this scheme.
Fee: £125 and this is reduced to £112.50 if taken in conjunction with the Elements of CM course - see below for details of this course.

The return of the SMAs most popular course in a new revamped version.

Suitable for those first taking on an element of Company Management in their jobs (CSM) as well as those wanting to CM in the West End or on tour.

ITC’s Stage Manager as Manager. It's a fantastic ITC course, especially as Jane Claire, the trainer, herself a former stage manager, knows exactly what sort of transferable skills you have. Register interest.
Children. We haven't quite found the perfect course or the perfect trainer on this subject, but by popular request we keep working away at it. Any suggestions, do please contact the office. Register interest.
