February 2026:  The Following Bruni top venting blank firing guns are now illegal - prohibited under the firearms acts currently in force in England and Wales* and a moratorium (the NCA Amnesty) is in place so that these guns can be handed in.

  • 8mm PAK Bruni BBM Model 92 blank firing self-loading pistol
  • 8mm PAK Bruni BBM New Police blank firing self-loading pistol
  • 8mm PAK Bruni BBM Model 96 blank firing self-loading pistol
  • 8mm PAK Bruni BBM Model ‘GAP’ blank firing self-loading pistol
  • .380R (9mmK) PAK Bruni BBM ME Ranger single-action blank firing revolver

These adapted hand guns were previously legal, but have become linked with violent crime recently as criminals have been converting these guns back to lethal weapons.

New amnesty announced for Italian-made blank firing guns to be surrendered - National Crime Agency

All guns of this type in England and Wales* are required to be surrendered in February 2026.

Month-long amnesty targets now-illegal Bruni firearms

*While the NCA amnesty will not apply in Scotland, any owners of any brand or model of top or side venting blank firing firearm can contact Police Scotland to surrender the firearm for appropriate disposal at any time, if no longer required. Readily convertible blank firearms are illegal under the Firearms Act 1982 and Firearms Act 1968
