At SMA Awards 2025 SMA and The Theatrical Guild were thrilled to announce the brand new Caldicot Bursary available to stage management for SMA CPD training
(other CPD training courses advertised by SMA may also be eligible for this funding in due course).
SMA members (except student, retired and corporate members) and stage management working in UK at all levels who wish to apply for this training support should contact SMA in the first instance. We will supply information about how to apply, and a Bursary Training Form for the course. One Course up to two days can be applied for, subject to availability.
Each candidate will be asked to supply a statement telling the Bursary funders why you need the Bursary funding to take the course, and a current stage management CV. Each candidate will be asked to pay a small contribution (usually £30 per course day) towards the costs of the course; the remaining course fees will be paid by SMA and the Bursary.
Applications will be reviewed by SMA and TTG, and assistance will be provided to those making an application if required; places will be made available to successful applicants who will be contacted approximately two weeks before the (first) course date.
(Bursary awards will be provided based on the information that you supply, on a case by case basis, at the discretion of the SMA and Theatrical Guild whose decision will be final)
In some cases assistance with travel costs may also be available.
Caldicot Bursary Support places are currently available for SMA Cueing to Music L1 and L2 in London : July 7th & 8th (see our Training tab and SMAgenda)
